Priority ClaimsSM LLC began in the early months of 2007. Primarily, Priority ClaimsSM is a billing service, providing in house revenue cycle management for medical claims.
As seasoned hobbiests with computers and electronics, we began to learn about the EHR (Electronic Health Record) software market. We devised a business model that would help streamline our billing services while also providing the physician with a fully integrated EHR, preferrably at little to no cost above our current 8% pricing model.
Over the last two years, we have had numerous demonstrations with EHR companies, ranging from the smallest startup to the largest EHR corporation. We wanted an EHR that our current clients would enjoy.
Unfortunately, we found it necessary to weed through most of the EHR companies that were using legacy software, were not CCHIT certified, were close to going out of business or going bankrupt and most importantly, were going to be stable for years to come. We chose EHR vendors that had a very user friendly and intuitive EHR for doctors to use, yet also remain cost effective for practices to thrive.
Most EHR vendors charge far too much for an overly complex product that requires the doctor to invest up to another 50,000 dollars just to learn the software proficiently. Tack on the
"add-ons" that do not come with the basic package, the yearly costs to maintain interfaces and essential basics not included by needed for the EHR to function out of the box, namely, ICD-9 coding, e-prescribing, lab interfaces, etc.
We were fortunate enough to learn about Amazing Charts® EMR software and their services. Along with a great product, Amazing Charts® has a wonderful, user friendly business model that we have come to appreciate. We have not seen this much dedication to the physician and the amount of improvements from user feedback from any other EHR vendor.
